N. Mohammad Plastic Industries Ltd. recently organized a training session on “8 Wastes of Lean Manufacturing” for employees from Production and related departments at the BK Conference Room. The session was conducted by Md. Atikur Rahman Sumon, Deputy General Manager, N. Mohammad Plastic Industries Ltd.
The training was arranged to strengthen Lean Manufacturing practices and improve operational efficiency by helping employees identify activities that do not add value to the production process.
Understanding the 8 Wastes of Lean Manufacturing
The session introduced participants to eight common forms of waste that may affect manufacturing efficiency:
• Defects
• Overproduction
• Waiting
• Non-Utilized Talent
• Transportation
• Inventory
• Motion
• Extra Processing
The objective was not limited to understanding these concepts theoretically. Participants were encouraged to identify real examples of waste from their own production areas and discuss practical ways to reduce or eliminate them.

Lean Manufacturing is closely connected with identifying unnecessary activities and improving the way resources, time and effort are used.
